The Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Service (HOPS) team provide a range of specialist psychiatric treatment, interventions, assertive outreach and intensive support for adult clients aged 18-64 years who are experiencing mental illness and homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Clinical service overview
Our team provides:
- psychiatric assessment and treatment
- clinical case management
- family and carer support
- specialist allied health interventions
The HOPS team also work in partnership with local homeless services Sacred Heart Mission and Launch South Bank to provide secondary consultation and assessment to clients that are accessing their services.
Our staffing profile includes a consultant psychiatrist, psychiatric registrar, occupational therapist, social worker and psychiatric nurses.

Clients must be aged between 18-64 years
Clients must live within The Alfred psychiatry catchment area. This includes the City of Port Phillip, City of Stonnington, part of the City of Glen Eira as well as part of the City of Melbourne, predominantly the Southbank area.
