The aims of this online course are to introduce the skills and methods used by human factors practitioners. Participants will learn how human factors can be applied to common healthcare problems such as medication safety, teamwork and leadership, and device safety through video lectures, readings and self-directed learning. By doing so, it will encourage the participants to improve patient safety at a managerial or clinical level with a broader base of skills than is commonly available within health services.  If you are motivated to improve the safety and quality of care for patients and the quality of working life for staff, this course will systematically introduce you to the knowledge and skills of the Human Factors discipline.

Underlying cardiac disease is common in surgical patients and significantly increases the risk of perioperative complications. This online course provides clinicians with comprehensive training in assessing, optimising, and managing cardiac patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery, following international guidelines and evidence-based best practice.
