What we do

MCCC is available to females with hormonal problems requiring a team approach of different specialists to support their menopause related care. The clinic is located at Sandringham Hospital.

The supportive MCCC team will:

  • Evaluate your menopausal stage and symptoms, and initiate appropriate care
  • Provide a clear care plan to help bridge the gap for women and primary health care providers

The team includes:

  • Endocrinologist
  • GPs with a special interest in menopause
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Physiotherapist
  • Dietitian
  • Psychologist

This clinic is designed to provide multidisciplinary assessment, over a maximum of 3 medical consultations, to initiate treatment and develop a care plan to bridge the gap for women and primary health care providers. We will transfer care back to their usual GP on discharge.

This clinic is available to people with hormonal concerns that are specific to females. This includes:

  • Perimenopause

  • Gynecological conditions, including undiagnosed vaginal bleeding and IUD insertion

What to expect

This clinic is located at Sandringham Hospital and will involve staff from The Alfred multidisciplinary team, known as your MCCC team.

Your first appointment will be with a GP in consultation with an endocrinologist (hormone specialist). At this time, appointments with the psychologist, physiotherapist or dietitian will be made according to your needs and goals.

After a series of appointments over 6 to 12 months, or earlier if your health needs have been met, we will transfer your care back to your preferred GP. If needed, your GP can always refer you back to the MCCC.
