Introduction to Trauma Physiotherapy

This course is aimed at new graduate physiotherapists and those with limited acute trauma experience.

Course overview
The content presented in this course will include basic acute trauma injury profiles and acute physiotherapy assessment and management skills. This course will include lectures, as well as small group-based case studies.
Topics include:
- Overview of trauma management and systems
- Neurological trauma and TBI
- PTA management
- Spinal trauma
- Bracing and orthotics
- Chest trauma
- Early rehabilitation
- Discharge planning
