Visiting The Greenhouse

Visiting Hours

You can visit between 10:00am–1:00pm and 3:00pm–7:00pm.

Visits outside these hours can be arranged with the Nurse Manager or shift nurse.

Family Respite

We know the lead-up to admission can be challenging, so we encourage families to take this time for respite. The Greenhouse’s Carer Consultant is available to discuss self-care strategies if needed.

Mealtime Visits

You’re welcome to assist patients during mealtimes, but we recommend only one visitor at a time. If a visit disrupts the patient, we may ask you to avoid visiting during meals.

Medical staff are available during business hours, but if unavailable, please leave your details and preferred callback time for a prompt response.

To streamline communication, please nominate one family member to contact The Greenhouse for updates during your relative’s admission. They can then share information with others.

Your Rights to Information

Alfred Health prioritises involving families and partners in patient care. However, patients may ask that specific details about their treatment remain private.

We respect these wishes unless exceptions apply, such as when there’s an imminent risk to the patient or others. Primary carers are entitled to information about the patient’s condition and treatment plan.

Feel free to contact The Greenhouse anytime to ask about your loved one’s wellbeing. The treating team also welcomes any information you’d like to share to support their care.
