Eating Disorders Program

Working with young people and their families as a key resource in their recovery.

Our Eating Disorders Program (EDP) provides integrated care and support for children and young people experiencing eating disorders. We draw on evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, while working together with young people, their family and support network.

We adopt a dialogical approach that values different perspectives. This means we have conversations where all ideas, experiences, and concerns are valued and considered equally. We encourage all important people in the young person’s life to participate in the process.

Our service has a specific focus on enhancing eating disorder treatment and we’ve had a significant impact on the lives of young people with eating disorders and their families for many years.

Katya shares what it’s like to live with an eating disorder, like having two brains: one that loves pasta and ice cream, and one that only wants control. She reflects on how it all began, the role social media played, and why recovery feels like trying to grow a seed in winter - until you find your garden.
