Registration number Trial Not Registered
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia globally contributing significantly to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Obesity is a well-established modifiable risk factor for AF and is present in 2/3 of patients with AF. The SEMOAF study aims to randomise 220 patients with AF and overweight/obesity to semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly vs placebo to determine the impact of weight loss on AF recurrence and burden.
