Research fees & payment
The Office of Ethics & Research Governance oversees the operation of the Alfred Hospital Ethics Committee and the governance of research projects undertaken at or by the Alfred Care Group sites of Bayside Health.
The fees charged represent recovery of the total cost of providing ethical and governance oversight. Fees have been set based on the total (human and other) resources required to review a new research project upon submission and then to monitor and manage it over its lifetime.
The fee structure is competitive with those imposed by similar organisations and reflects the actual resource allocation to the process of scientific, ethical and governance review.
Fee schedule
The Office of Ethics & Research Governance will charge either a governance or ethics fee for new research projects - but not both.
- Fees are exclusive of GST.
- Tax invoices for the review fees will be sent by Bayside Health (Alfred) directly to sponsors or institution responsible for payment following submission of applications.
There is a one-off payment for archiving to cover long-term storage and other costs such as electronic scanning and secure destruction at the end of the archiving period.
The fee schedule outlines fees for new research projects, amendments, and archiving.
