Call for Applications for Membership of Bayside Health Community Advisory Committee
The Board of Bayside Health is seeking applications from health care consumers and members of the community to join the Bayside Health Community Advisory Committee. The Committee's role is to provide advice to the Bayside Health Board and Chief Executive Officer of priority areas and concerns to enhance patient experience and promote consumer and community participation in matters that impact the strategic direction and delivery of Bayside Health services.
Applications are sought from consumers with a lived experience (patient/family/carer) of Bayside Health services. People from diverse backgrounds who live in Victoria’s south: from metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, South Gippsland and Bass Coast are encouraged to apply.
Experience in consumer representation and strong community links and networks is desirable.
The Community Advisory Committee meetings are held every second month for 120 minutes and membership is made up from consumer advisors and Bayside Health Board members. There is a requirement to attend minimum of 5 meetings per year and the term of office is three years. Members are also offered opportunities for involvement in other organisational committees, working groups and a variety of consumer related activities supporting service improvements.
You will be formally orientated as a Consumer Advisor to Bayside Health and the CAC. This will include a role statement and introduction to other members. You will be given a key contact on the committee who will provide ongoing support. Regular training opportunities are provided for Consumer Advisors. CAC members will receive remuneration according to the Safer Care Victoria consumer remuneration guidelines. Information about Bayside Health can be found at www.baysidehealth.org.au
