Dr Hendrik Zimmet
Dr Hendrik Zimmet is a cardiologist in the Hypertension Clinic at The Alfred.
Hendrik is a Cardiologist with a special interest in heart failure management.
Hendrik graduated from the University of Melbourne, undertook physician training at Royal Melbourne Hospital, and then advanced training in General Medicine at the Alfred, followed by Cardiology advanced training at Epworth Richmond and Flinders Medical Centre.
In 2011, Hendrik did Fellowship training in Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at The Alfred.
Hendrik's clinical interests include management of refractory heart failure, acute decompensated heart failure, cardiac amyloidosis and hypertension.
Hendrik is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and is actively involved in medical student teaching.
Hendrik’s research interests include the use of stem cell therapy in heart failure, heart failure clinical trials, heart failure epidemiology and novel heart failure therapies. He has published research work in both local and international medical journals.
