The aims of this course are to introduce the skills and methods used by human factors practitioners.

Why do the course
Human factors is a science that applies knowledge of human physical, cognitive and social abilities and limitations to design systems, organisations, jobs, and technology for safe and efficient performance.
In clinical settings this includes technologies such as electronic prescribing software, surgical instruments, and all aspects of organisational, team, and clinical processes.
Who the course is aimed at
Anyone who is interested in human factors can register for this course. This includes but is not limited to:
- Physicians
- Nurses
- Pharmacists
- Allied health practitioners
- Health service manages
- Quality and safety managers
Course structure
- Seven interactive modules including videos, reading packages, journal articles, quizzes
- One module is released each week
- Once a module is released participants can work at their own pace
- No assessment

- Putting HF into practice
Course duration
- 7 Weeks online learning
- Participants will have ongoing access to our online clinical human facors community forum
Time commitment
4-6 hours per week (on average)
Course fee
- Doctors AUD $900 (inc GST)
- Health professionals/others AUD $400 (inc GST)
All registrants will be required to provide proof oof specialty registration.
