Janelle holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree, with additional Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Nursing.

Her MCS experience includes a wide range of durable pumps, in both Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) and BiVentricular Assist Device (BiVAD) configurations. Janelle is actively involved in MCS education with specialist teams within The Alfred and the wider community. She has strong interests in MCS research and has contributed to publications on driveline infection, the role of biofilm formation, speed optimisation, BiVADs and quality of life for patients and caregivers.

Janelle is an active member of the International Consortium of Circulatory Assist Clinicians (ICCAC), she is Chair of the Asia Pacific Committee, part of the Best Practice committee and a Global Ambassador 2025.
