These positions are for 12 months in the Neurosurgery Department at The Alfred.
Applications are encouraged from suitably qualified Australian or overseas trained doctors with an interest in neurosurgery who have undertaken some rotations in Neurosurgery at the level of a senior resident (Post-Graduate Year 3) or greater.
Overseas candidates should have a medical degree that is recognised by APHRA, or have completed or be within two years of completion of a formal accredited neurosurgery training program in their home country.
This position will expose the successful candidate to a broad range of elective and emergency cranial and spinal neurosurgery. The clinical program includes daily ward rounds and theatre sessions, weekly cerebrovascular and neuro-oncology multidisciplinary meetings, weekly journal club, fortnightly audit meetings, and monthly endocrine, skull base and complex spine meetings.
