Patients Come First

The Patients Come First Strategy is Alfred Health’s ‘roadmap’ for putting patients and their families at the centre of care through supporting their own individual healthcare needs and rights.

Why do we have a strategy?

The Patients Come First Strategy is an important document that supports Alfred Health’s Strategic Plan by outlining how we will deliver on our primary goal; providing high-quality, equitable patient-centred care.

The eight focus areas above represent the key elements of a positive patient experience. We have a range of projects that consider these focus areas and aim to improve the overall experience of care for our patients and families. We measure our patient experience through our many surveys and other feedback such as complaints and compliments.

The goals and objectives outlined in this strategy will help us navigate the future of health care we aspire to achieve.

One that is patient-centred, equitable and responsive to the voice of the community it serves.

Patient Portal

The Patient Portal provides patients with safe, convenient and easy access to their health information. Consumers have been crucial in the design, navigation and communication of the portal to Alfred Health patients.

‘Changing Places’ Changing Room

As part of our vision to provide an inclusive, safe and accessible environment, Alfred Health has created a changing places room. Some of our patients and visitors require complex support, which means they are unable to use standard accessible toilets and  amenities.
