National Trauma Research Institute

The National Trauma Research Institute’s goal is to reduce preventable deaths and permanent disability from injury through research, education, biomedical engineering and trauma systems development. Our research is driven by the needs of the injured and our solutions are a multidisciplinary effort.

The combined expertise of The Alfred and Monash University’s educators, clinicians, scientists and administrators ensure pragmatic programs for healthcare providers. We deliver medical and nursing staff training, improvements in workflow and systems as well as technological innovations for improved outcomes.
