Commonwealth Home Support Program

If you are caring for an older person, we also provide respite services, resources and supported activities for older people with care needs via the Commonwealth Home Support Program(CHSP).

CHSP helps people aged over 65 years (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) access entry-level support services to live independently and safely at home.

At Alfred Health Carer Services, we focus on supporting care relationships and carers, by helping carers access some respite to take a break from their usual caring responsibilities. Respite takes place in the client’s home or in a community setting. There are also group and individual respite as well as online activities to choose from.

We offer the following:

Centre Based Respite – CALD Community Access Groups and Residential Day respite.

Flexible and Cottage Respite – Day respite in your home – flexible respite (currently closed for referrals) and Cottage respite.
