Research fees & payment
The Office of Ethics & Research Governance oversees all aspects of research at Alfred Health, with the major component of work arising from the operation of the Ethics Committee and the governance of research projects undertaken at or by Alfred Health.
The fees charged represent recovery of the total cost of providing ethical and governance oversight. Fees have been set based on the total (human and other) resources required to review a new research project upon submission and then to monitor and manage it over its lifetime.
The fee structure is competitive with those imposed by similar organisations and reflects the actual resource allocation to the process of scientific and ethical review.
Fee schedule
The Office of Ethics & Research Governance will charge either a governance or ethics fee for new research projects - but not both.
- Fees are exclusive of GST. No other fees or levies are payable.
- Tax invoices for the review fees will be sent by The Alfred directly to sponsors or institution responsible for payment following submission of applications.
There is a one-off payment for archiving to cover long-term storage and other costs such as electronic scanning and secure destruction at the end of the archiving period.
The fee schedule outlines fees for new research projects, CTN, amendments, IBs/DSURs and archiving.
