There is no better way to celebrate life and say happy anniversary, congratulations, happy birthday, mazel tov or best wishes than with a gift that could save lives.
Life is something to celebrate. Giving in lieu of gifts is a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion.
By asking family and friends to make a donation to The Alfred instead of receiving gifts for yourself, you will be helping thousands of Victorians receive the best medical care available.
With our online giving partner GoFundraise you can create your own in celebration giving page. Simply choose your celebration; it could be anything; a birthday, an anniversary or a wedding.
You can personalise your page with photos and details of the occasion. You will be emailed a unique URL which you can include on invitations, share on social media or forward in an email inviting your family and friends to make a donation to The Alfred instead of giving you a gift. They then make a secure online gift.
Any donation over $2 is eligible for a tax deductible receipt. You’ll also be notified when they make a donation so you can send your own thank you.
If you prefer, we can send you some of our beautifully designed in celebration donation envelopes. These can be personalised and give you the option to make a donation by cheque, money order or credit card. They are also a reply paid envelope so your family member or friend can simply fill out their details, seal the envelope and put it in any post box.
Anyone who makes a donation over $2 through the in celebration envelopes will receive a tax deductible receipt and thank you letter from The Alfred. We will also send you a thank you letter with the total amount raised and a list of people who donated, should you wish to thank them personally.

I am alive now because of The Alfred, a “thank you” was never going to be enough for me to show my gratitude. It is a privilege to be able to give back in a financial way and witness others like me, benefiting from this most wonderful hospital. The money donated by so many people has made an incredible difference to so many lives. Thanks to The Alfred I celebrated a special 21st Birthday, a party organised by my lovely daughter Laura 21 years after my heart transplant.
