Decision-Aid Development: Arm and Hand Neurorehabilitation
Consistent with Alfred Health’s Patients Come First strategy, decisions about arm and hand therapy should be discussed with all patients, and with families and/or guardians.
Prior qualitative research suggests that people with lived experience of stroke and brain injury experience dissatisfaction with the quality of such discussions, or have no memory of them. Our research also suggests that clinicians struggle to explain continuous outcome measurement data with consumers, and that decision aids may improve such conversations.
