Have you ever wondered what its like to be a nurse in one of the largest, and most sophisticated, Intensive Care Units in the country?
To find out, have a look at our ICU vodcast series - The Faces Behind ICU.
The six-part series features critical care nurses, and other staff from the multidisciplinary ICU team, who share their thoughts on their inspiring and, often, challenging work.
The Faces Behind ICU series looks at how critical care nurses cope with the highs and the lows of caring for critically ill patients, what do they do to unwind, how they cope with death, and how they support each other.
The Alfred's ICU employs more than 300 nurses and 50 specialist ICU doctors - better known as intensivists.
The unit provides treatment for some of the most complex and critically ill patients in the country, and admits around 2000 patients every year. To read more about our ICU click here.
