Research partners welcomed for site visit
We were pleased to welcome our research partners from Monash University recently for a tour of the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre building site.
"What we're creating here will be of international standing; a place we'll be able to use breakthrough technology to provide cutting edge cancer care to more Australians," said Prof Stephen Jane, Alfred Health Director of Research.
Standing amongst what will become state-of-the-art laboratories, Prof Jane, who is also Dean of the Subfaculty of Translational Medicine and Public Health at Monash University, said the centre will enable some of the closest 'bench to bedside' care seen internationally.
"On one site, and with the support of the Minderoo Foundation, we'll have access to the best technology for cancer registries, medical imaging, genomics and other large data sets that will transform the way we detect, diagnose, treat and ultimately prevent cancer."
This project received funding from the Fox Family Foundation, the Minderoo Foundation, Monash University, The Alfred Foundation, the Victorian Government and the Australian Government.
