Release of HIV consultation report

Responding to future needs of the HIV community

In late 2013, Alfred Health outlined a new approach to HIV services addressing the changing clinical needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV).  Following the community's response to this plan, consultation was undertaken to better understand the needs of PLHIV.

Community consultation report

This HIV Community Consultation Feedback Report summarises the community's response to the options presented for the future of HIV services at The Alfred.

The HIV Services Consultation Review Panel summarised this feedback and oversaw the report. The panel included community representatives, HIV specialists and Alfred Health management.

Alfred Health response

Having considered the report's findings, Alfred Health will establish a new HIV Services Advisory Group.  The group will help plan future services as well as identify community needs and future trends in care.  Current services, including those at Fairfield House, will continue as the group is established and its work gets underway.
