The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre is Victoria's first purpose-built centre of excellence in brain injury rehabilitation. The centre opened in September 2014 and will house a 42- bed inpatient unit and community rehabilitation service. This centre and the new team will substantially improve access to quality care for patients with moderate to severe brain injury resulting from traumatic accidents, illness or stroke
The ABI Rehabilitation Centre will focus on the delivery of best practice, evidence based rehabilitation and care as well as research and teaching through all components of the service.
The new centre is based at our Caulfield Hospital site, and integrates into the existing logistics, allied health and rehabilitation precincts.
