H1N1 Influenza 09 (Human Swine Flu) Information

H1N1 Influenza 09 (Human Swine Flu) has been identified in a number of countries around the world, including Australia. The symptoms of the Human Swine Flu are the same as those for the normal winter flu, and so far have been relatively mild.

The pandemic alert level has been raised by the World Health Organisation from phase 4 to phase 5. The Australian Government pandemic alert remains in the contain phase. Victoria is now in a modified sustain phase of our plan to manage the impact of this strain of influenza in our community.
