The Victorian HIV Consultancy (VHIVC)

The Victorian HIV Consultancy is a small multidisciplinary team comprising of an infectious diseases physician, a clinical nurse consultant & a clinical nurse specialist in HIV.

VHIVC has a statewide brief funded through the Department of Human Services (DHS) Palliative Care Program.

Originally established to support end-of-life care needs for people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA), the service now includes the continuing care needs of PLWHA, especially those with limited access to mainstream HIV services.

This includes rural clients, individuals with a history of disengagement from mainstream health care, those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, aging PLWHA and women.

Referrals can be made by health or allied health professionals or by individuals themselves.
