Description of Service

The Sandringham Hospital Collection Centre provides inpatient and outpatient collection services and Bulk Billed collections for private patients of General Practitioners and Specialists 

The Sandringham laboratory provides basic testing in Haematology, Biochemistry and Blood Bank. 

Laboratory staff are also responsible for the point of care testing devices in the Sandringham Emergency Department, which are available after hours for testing in critically ill patients. 

All other tests are sent to The Alfred's laboratory.

Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:00
Friday:                 08:00-15:30     

Inpatient Collection Rounds
Monday-Friday 07:00-13:00
Saturday         07:00-10:00

  • Collection staff also perform ECGs on request
  • A domiciliary service is available for patients with limited mobility

The Laboratories & Collection Rooms are located next to the private Consulting Suites at the rear of the car park.

Hours Of Service
The laboratory is open between 0830 and 1730 Monday to Friday.
