Description of Service

The WBRC is a premiere Radiation Therapy centre in Melbourne.

The centre's specialist medical staff provide expert advice for patients with malignant diseases (or for patients with benign disease that may be treated with radiation), and then - in conjunction with the professional radiation therapist treatment staff - administer any necessary courses of radiotherapy.

This includes both external beam treatment and brachytherapy treatment.

The WBRC has a close connection with the Medical Oncology unit at the Alfred, allowing convenient multi-modality treatment with combinations of radiation and chemotherapy, if indicated.

In addition, the close connection of the WBRC with other specialist surgical and medical units at the Alfred engenders the very best advice and care for patients requiring help from these units.
