Health Information Services provides clinical and non-clinical support to all departments throughout Alfred Health.

Providing medical records for patient attendances.
Scanning of medical record documents into the Cerner clinical system.
Providing medical records for auditing and research purposes.
Management of paper and electronic medical record forms.
Typing services for outpatient letters and operation reports.
Information release services for GP requests and other emergency and non-emergency hospital attendances.
Clinical coding, with DRG assignment and WIES calculations. This ensures that the hospital is optimally funded for all inpatient activity.
Management of policies on health privacy, patient registration, records management and archiving, records access, and medical documentation.
Hospital Switchboard and Enquiries/Reception services.
